The sturdy film backing provides the durability needed for a high-production environment, and its excellent resistance to edge tearing increases the life of the disc over discs with standard A-weight paper backings. At the same time, the film backing provides a close-tolerance, consistent finish, making it a good choice for applications such as spot repairs, sanding plastic parts, paint feathering on defects, or sanding automotive primer. To help reduce loading on the disc, the disc has open coat construction without a load-resistant stearate coating. The Stikit adhesive on the backing conveniently attaches the disc to a low-profile 3M™ Stikit™ Disc Pad (sold separately) on a random orbital sander. Film Disc Roll 360L comes in a range of grades for various applications from fine sanding to finishing.Sandpaper discs cut better and last longer when dust isn’t loading the cutting surface of the abrasives. An open coat means the abrasive grains have space between them so that sanding debris collects in the spaces rather than loading the cutting edge of the grains.
